In Kovur in the summer of 1993, ammamma believes a crow calling on the compound wall means somebody is coming. Two years after a fight in the verandah, her son has not written once, and she still makes one extra pesarattu every day and sends her grandson to meet the four o clock bus. After three weeks of an empty bus stop, the boy finds tatayya's green address diary in the almirah.
