For the class 4 group dance a boy is a peacock in the back row, and amma cuts her blue and green wedding pattu to make his costume, stitching three nights on the usha machine. On annual day the whole town is in the ground when the curtain opens and the tape starts. Then, in Narsapur at 7 every evening, the power goes.
