In 1996 cable ravi climbs the neem tree and brings thirty channels into a vidyanagar flat, and only tatayya calls it the wire that spoils children. From the fourth night the picture dies at exactly nine thirty, every night, though the neighbours' cable is fine. Ravi says it must be a ghost, and the twelve year old with the library detective books hides behind the fridge to find out.
