Part 3 of 3 · 1 minThe Day She Told the Truth
At last Bheem thought about it. "But what if it is true this time?" He came slowly and looked. There really was a snake. Bheem pushed the snake away with his big trunk. Rocky came and pulled Chintu out. Pinky flew about making a great noise and frightened the snake.
The snake fled. Chintu stood there shaking with fear.
Bheem said, "Chintu, look how many times you have lied. Now even when you told the truth, we did not believe you. That is why help came so late."
Chintu cried and said, "I did wrong. I will never tell a lie again. Forgive me, my friends."
From that day Chintu changed. She told no more lies. She always spoke the truth. The animals began to believe her again. Happiness filled the forest once more. Now Chintu helped everybody. When she found fruit, she shared it.
One day a guard dog really did come into the farmer's garden. Chintu told everyone the truth. They all kept careful together, and no one came to any harm.
Chintu is now the monkey everybody in the forest loves best. The children laugh when they see her, and they admire how she changed.
Moral: Do not tell lies. Tell a lie once, and afterwards nobody will believe you even when you speak the truth. Speak the truth and everybody believes you, and your friends come to help. Live honestly, without deceiving anyone. Only then is life a happy one.
