Under The Stamp
A dead tatayya's tin trunk, a bundle of letters, and the stamps ammamma never peeled off.
In class 7 the whole class moves from matchbox labels to stamps, and a boy with only gandhi and the peacock needs something old to be a king. Ammamma lets him into tatayya's tin trunk on one condition: take the stamps, not the letters. He boils water in the small vessel and holds the first envelope over the steam.
