Every time the sky turns gray and rain begins to tap against the windows, the school bus at Oak Creek Elementary takes a different route than any other day. A small group of curious students, equipped with colorful umbrellas and sticky notes for mapping, hop on board to chart these mysterious journeys. They call themselves The Mapmakers, determined to uncover what lies behind every bend in this wet, wonderful world.
The story begins with a gentle mystery: why does the bus always stop at a new place when it rains? As they explore foggy parks, secret tunnels under bridges, and gardens that bloom only in the downpour, the children learn to trust their instincts and each other. By part two, they discover an old owl living in the school's garden shed who claims he can explain the bus's secrets if they can find the "Key of Clouds" hidden somewhere along their paths.
